#13 Marley’s Freedom
#9 Stormy Embrace
#5 Golden Mischief
The BC FM Sprint has a morning line favorite that looks tough to beat in my opinion. Marley’s Freedom brings a 4-race win streak into this event including a dominant victory in the Grade 1 Ballerina at Saratoga last out. She is 3-for-3 since moving to trainer Bob Baffert’s barn and the post-position draw helps her running style. She has all the speed to her inside and looks to be in line for a good trip.
Stormy Embrace had a very tough trip in the Sheer Drama last out. Her victory in the Grade 2 Princess Rooney on June 30 was visually impressive and just as so on paper. Versatile filly likely stalks the pace, and a return to her win 2-back makes her a contender at a price.
Golden Mischief split horses and closed best of all in the Grade 2 TCA at Keeneland last out to defeat a few similar rivals that she finds today. Toss her troubled trip in the Grade 3 Winning Colors and she would be 4 for her last 4. Sharp as can be and is a contender.
I think Marley’s Freedom is the likeliest winner of this race, but if you’re looking for a money back special play to go against the favorite, Stormy Embrace could be the one. She paid $33.40 when she won the Grade 2 Princess Rooney 2-back in an effort that’s good enough to be right there with this group and figures to be a bigger price in this event.
Good luck in this year’s BC FM Sprint!
