#14 Eziyra: Veteran trainer Dermot Weld isn’t shipping to America for a weekend getaway and Breeders’ Cup souvenirs <Souvenirs here!>. When Weld ships to America, it’s with a purpose. This 4-year-old filly is a multiple graded stakes winner and G1 placed. Has finished 3rd behind both Enable and Sea of Class who would tower over this field. With only 3 starts on the year she has a fresh set of legs. Frankie Dettori and First time lasix. Sign me up at 15-1.
#9 A Raving Beauty: Multiple G1 winning 5-year-old mare saddled by Chad Brown is in the prime of her career. There have been some distance questions with this mare but she was closing ground on Sistercharlie going 1 1/8 at Belmont and finished 2nd in the G1 Premio Lydia Tesio in Italy going 1 1/4. Gets Javier Castellano who won this race twice for Chad Brown in 2012 and 2014. Brown could have elected to run elsewhere or keep her tucked away in New York, but she is in top form and gets her chance at glory today.
#5 Princess Yaiza: Perhaps a moonshot with this 3-year-old filly by Casamento out of the Noverre mare Undertone. But she is in good form in her previous 3 races and is coming off a breakthrough win in the G2 Qatar Prix de Royallieu at Longchamp against older fillies and mares. Is proven at distances ranging from 7 furlongs to 1 9/16 miles. Andrea Atzeni gets aboard this filly for the 2nd time, the 1st of which was last start which resulted in a G2 victory. Atzeni and Princess Yaiza could be a match made in heaven. Has proven to be competitive over any type of footing.
