California Distaff Handicap at Santa Anita: Play against any Peter Miller trained runners at your own peril, so I knew exactly what the consequences might be when I did just that and watched LOVE A HONEYBADGER ($6.80) race gate to wire. Poor job of handicapping by me, but great claim by the connections!
Canadian International (G1) at Woodbine: Frequent readers of this blog will recall I’ve previously written ‘where there’s dope, there’s hope’ and that angle perfectly applied to this race as first time Lasix user DESERT ENCOUNTER ($18.20) continued her love affair with this unique marathon turf distance. It’s SOOO easy after the race!
Floral Park at Belmont Park: Once the (seemingly never ending) rain hit Long Island, resulting in yielding turf, a slew of scratches completely changed the whole scenario of this race, rendering my 72 hour in advance handicapping analysis useless.
Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1) at Keeneland: RUSHING FALL ($2.80) is the epitome of a champion, having now won six of her seven career starts (beaten by a neck in her lone loss) while racing with the elites in her class. Plus she helped me cash today a $1 exacta that paid $8.90 five times. Thanks, Champ!
