Great Lady M (G2) at Los Alamitos: ALWAYS dangerous to try & take a stand against any Bob Baffert trained runners these days, which is exactly what I did in this race and of course, I paid the ultimate price as he won, resulting in all my recommended wagers losing.
Belmont Derby Invitational (G1) at Belmont Park: CATHOLIC BOY ($12.20) and ANALYZE IT continued their on-track rivalry, finishing one-two for the second race in a row, but I didn’t cash as I was a big believer in HAWKISH, who unfortunately finished off the board.
Suburban (G2) at Belmont Park: DIVERSIFY ($14.00) continued his love affair with ‘Big Sandy’ as this New York-bred has never finished worse than second in eight lifetime starts in Elmont, NY and was the definition of a true overlay as he had never been higher than 7/2 in his last 10 starts. Hope you were smarter than me and played him!
Belmont Oaks Invitational (G1) at Belmont Park: Many horseplayers were skeptical of ATHENA ($22.80) as she ran just six days ago in Ireland, then had to fly across the pond and tackle some of North America’s finest three-year-old fillies. But trainer Aidan O’Brien had the last laugh on all those skeptics, including yours truly.
