RECAP OF SELECTIONS FROM 02/24/18

Daytona (G3) at Santa Anita: Overall, it was a profitable Saturday for the newsletter (as you’ll read shortly), BUT nothing more frustrating than picking a $12.40 winner (CONQUEST TSUNAMI) on top, but yet not having a penny on him to win since I was so focused on trying to beat STORMY LIBERAL in the exotics. Ugh!!

Hal’s Hope (G3) at Gulfstream Park: Conversely, no better feeling in the world than having a $12.20 winner (ECONOMIC MODEL) on top and allocating my entire $50 wagering budget on him to win!

Gazebo at Oaklawn Park: Another frustrating wagering mistake here, highlighting the importance and sensitivity of using the word ‘key’ as opposed to ‘box’, costing me payouts in the exacta ($19.90 for $1) and trifecta ($23.35 for 50 cents) when MITOLE finished second (instead of winning). Double ugh!!

Franklin Square at Aqueduct: Yep, a third and final wagering faux pas made by yours truly as my longshot value play (AUNT BABE, $14) won without me having a penny on his nose, further illustrating the critical point that horseplayers should spend just as much time structing their wagers as they do handicapping.
