BREEDERS’ CUP RECAP

RECAP OF BREEDERS’ CUP SELECTIONS FROM 11/02/18 and 11/03/18

Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at Churchill Downs: ACCELERATE ($7.40) without question, will win the Eclipse Award for older Horse of the Year after his dominating victory in this race. However, whether he will win Horse of the Year (versus JUSTIFY) remains to be seen, but no doubt his body of work for 2018 is impressive (seven starts, six wins, with the last four all against Grade 1 company). He’ll definitely get his fair share of votes, and deservedly so.

Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1) at Churchill Downs: Speaking of champions, ENABLE ($3.60), proved that she is one as well as she is the first horse to ever complete the Arc & Breeders’ Cup Turf double (while beating the boys) in the same year. Plus she was directly responsible for putting some extra money in my TVG account after she won and MAGICAL finished second, triggering a $26.80 exacta which I had two-and-a-half times.

Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) at Churchill Downs: If you remember one thing for next year’s Breeders’ Cup (at Santa Anita), know that when trainer Sir Michael Stoute ships in a runner for the event, he means business! After EXPERT EYE ($13.80) won this race, he’s now 8-for-41 (19.5%) in the history of the Breeders’ Cup.

Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) at Churchill Downs: Another year in the books, another future book favorite for the Kentucky Derby (G1) that resides in the Bob Baffert barn after Game Winner’s ($4.00) tour de force in the city of Louisville that he hopes to repeat in less than six months.
